Dave McLoughlin: Bandleader, Trumpet, Flugelhorn

Play M.C. Dave


Dave, originally from Michigan, grew up playing in jazz bands throughout high school and college. Dave played with several big bands in Los Angeles and Northern California prior to moving to Colorado in 1996.  In addition to playing in the Swingin' Seven Dave also plays regularly with the Longmont Symphony.


Chris Boyer: Upright  Bass

Play Buttah

Chris has played upright bass for various jazz and bluegrass bands in the Denver/Boulder area, including the GrooveYard Quartet, the Pam Rowen Trio and Hollow Body Breakdown. Chris’ loves listening to all a wide-range of jazz players, including the sounds of cool jazz artists Charles Mingus and Paul Chambers, and more contemporary bass players such as Christian McBride and Chris Wood.


Trevor Bauer: Trumpet

Trevor started his career playing with such legendary Bay-Area bands such as "Tower of Power" and "The Average White Band." After a freak surfing accident, he was forced away from the West Coast (due to his abnormal fear of water). Finding the Boulder area to be suitably away from the ocean, Trevor settled down to a life of Swing Jazz music and has been spotted on Pearl Street with the sign "Will Play For Booze!".


John Batista: Tenor Saxophone

John grew up in New York where he started playing saxophone in the fifth grade. He has played in several combos and ensembles performing various genres of jazz. While studying music production at The University of Colorado at Denver he performed with the UCD 'Claimjumpers' Dixieland group. His musical influences include Lester Young and Coleman Hawkins.


Herb Harvey: Trombone

Originally from New Mexico, Herb has enjoyed living in the Denver/Boulder area since 1991. Although he started out as a trumpet player, Herb finally wized-up to the wonders of the trombone. His extensive musical background includes a music education degree from New Mexico with additional studies at UNC and University of Nebraska.


Adam Kuyt: Alto and Baritone Saxophone

Adam relocated to Colorado 6 years ago from western Canada. Raised in a musical family his grandfather was a band director, and his father played bass in jazz and Dixieland groups. An engineer by day, he has always pursued opportunities to play the saxophone, including 8 years in the Royal Canadian Navy Reserve as a musician and band leader. His influences include Grover Washington and Branford Marsallis.


Pam Rowen: Piano and Vocals

Pam has been playing piano professionally for over 20 years. While attending UCSD, she worked various jazz artists around San Diego including  Grammy-nominated artist Lori Bell. After college she returned to her roots in Colorado and has continued to play music backing up various vocalists and jazz artists. Some of her influences include Carmen Macrae, Sarah Vaughn, Ella Fitzgerald, Mose Allison, and Bill Evans


Don Landreth: Drums & Percussion

After fifteen years of schlepping drums for Neal Peart, Don realized that he, too, could be a musician and purchased a drum kit. Quickly thereafter, he was asked to join the band that backed such legendary musicians as Christina Agulara and Brittney Spears, and spent the next ten years touring the world. When the weariness of road-travel set in, Don retired to Colorado and joined the Swingin' Seven in mid-summer. He's been happy banging his drums all day, ever since
